All components are Natural Anodised to a Minimum of 25 microns - suitable for marine use.
Material Specifications
Inflatable boat fabrics are commonly, and imprecisely, compared for durability using a Denier rating. Although higher Denier fabrics are generally stronger, Denier describes only the weight of the yarn used in the fabric; it is the weight, in grams, of 9,00 meters of yarn. In the case of inflatable boat fabrics, the Denier refers to the base fabric, not the rubber (or PVC) coating. The Denier rating does not give any information about the abrasion resistance, puncture resistance, or the ability of the complete material to resist being torn apart. Thus, two different inflatable boat fabrics can have the same Denier rating but have very different durability. For this reason one must be carefull not to compare this fabric with the Denier rating of the fabric used on the Nylon type outer sewn fabric housings used on many float tubes and lightweight Pontoon craft manufactured by others. We use a vinyl coated base fabric with all seams glued and double taped.
