Special Design & Material Benefits

If you are in the market for a Float tube or a Kickboat the following points should be considered seriously as they are all important factors for the ultimate enjoyment when using your craft.
Most float craft available in the shops these days are constructed using a Denier Nylon (Fabric), outer cover which constricts and holds an internal bladder which is inflated to a suitable pressure.
It is our contention that this selection of material and construction has several inherent features that are not desirable - or could be improved upon .............. Which is exactly what we aim to do!
- All Dabbie Products craft are constructed out of a
Vinyl Coated - Polyester base fabric as used in the Inflatable boat industry. It is far more resilient and harder to puncture than the denier fabric covered bladders that are used on many other types of flotation craft.
- Because the fabric is smooth there is nothing for the hook to catch into and they tend to bounce off
- Mud and the waterline scum is easily washed off the craft -
unlike on the fabric overed bladders of other craft, that are inclined to get this dirt in the fabrics weave and its inclined to stain or alternatively you will need to wash it regularly to maintain its looks.
Put a Dabbie product that's three years old and in regular use next to a new one and you will battle to distinguish between the two. They therefore Maintains their Resale Value for longer.
- Water immediately runs off this material, once removed from the water. Pack it away in a dry condition and avoid that damp patch (or musty smell) in the cars boot as is often the case with many other products. Many an owner of a fabric covered tube will attest to a product covered in a fungal mold when it has been packed away damp .... and in this condition it is very difficult to completely remove while still keeping its good looks.
- The Dabbie Material is FAR more durable. In one test a Floatmaster was dragged on the end of its pontoons on a Hot Tarred Road for 4.5km - nearly 2.7 miles!! before it punctured. Most of the damage was due to the incredible heat from the road that softened the fabric coasting and thereby accelerated its wearing away.
Although I have not done it - I would imagine if you dragged it along the shore of a lake - over grass water, stones and gravel etc you could easily double that figure. The repairs took a total of 5 minutes.
- No special sewing facilities are needed to effect repairs or to add additional accessories or D-ring patches etc. A few minutes and a heat gun or hair dryer is all that is needed. Emergency repairs in the field don't even need these items.
- Although it is a slightly heavier product it certainly gives one the reassuring feeling when afloat that You are seated on a Product of Substance.
